RADIOGRAPHY TANGENTIAL ON PIPES CORROSION INSPECTIONS USING DIGITAL IMAGE RADIOLOGY (DIR) PROCESSING

Pipes corrosion is metal deterioration process that often occurs in the industrial field. To fulfilled the requirement for reliability and safety of the pipes, its necessary the way to evaluate exactly. Radiography tangential technique can be used to evaluate pipe conditions include with insulator. But the scatter was occurred then the radiographed will obtain low quality film and no easy to interprets. By means of digital image radiology (DIR), the radio graphed can be processed to be digital image and easy for interprets. After that the corroded pipe conditions that represented on the radiographed can be determined.
